June 15, 2009 – Emergency Room!
We had a big scare with Branson in the middle of the night. I had just gone to bed and heard a cry then a loud BANG. I ran to Branson’s room to find him crouching on the ground and crying. It didn’t sound like he was in pain so I thought he just had a bad dream. I lifted him up and set him on his bed and his nose was bleeding a lot. I called for Josh, got the tissues, then realized that he was starting to bruise. There was a line across the top of his nose and as I was talking to Josh it was getting really swollen. I grabbed the insurance card, blanket, sippy cup, and Josh took him to the emergency room at about midnight. The doctor looked at him and luckily his nose was not broken. We had to wake him up throughout the night to make sure he didn’t have a concussion and try to ice it (even though he hates it). After sleeping in this morning, he seems to be pretty much back to normal. He insisted that I put medicine on the scrapes and cover it with a Spiderman band-aid. He was so brave and barely cried in the emergency room. We’d like to thank our friend Chris Berry for stopping by the hospital to give Josh some company and make sure Branson was okay; that was very nice of you! 
A couple of hours later, Branson came home with a bagful of goodies and he played with them all day. So, he is okay!!!!
Earlier that day as we were watching the Lakers WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP, Branson was screaming “Lakers win – Kobe wins!” I was so proud!

Oh my! Did he fall off his bed in the middle of the night or was he sleep walking? Glad to hear he is back to himself today. Jessica was sitting on a chain fence 2 days ago and fell back on her head, directly on the asphalt. It scared me! We had to keep her awake to make sure she was ok…all is well…thankgoodness! Wow,”never a dull moment” as they say raising boys.Josh had alot of falls from his bed trying to fly all the time from the TOP bunk!!!! I wonder if he stood up in bed and flipped over one of those side guards. i think i would consider taking them off. as long as there is nothing to the sides of the bed a tumble to the carpet might be softer. what was his version of what happened? glad he is ok. is he all bruised or get BLACK EYES? SOMETIMES IT TAKES A COUPLE OF DAYS FOR THEM TO REALLY SHOW UP AND WITH THAT RED HEADED SKIN….. well, his father gave us a run for the money with the emergency room trips too for crazy things. Hey, I think we stole some of josh’s white socks.sorry if i thought they were dad’s. We had a great time and are missing those little munchkins.Looked at our video and got some of Branson in action running at the park and playing his games.I hope Damon is keeping his weight up ok. OH my gosh that is so crazy, what did he fall off of?? Was he climbing on his dresser or something, or did he fall out of bed??? I am glad to hear he is ok. What a crazy night. I hope you took some pictures you will have to right that one down in his baby book.
Wow! I can’t believe what happened to Branson, this little guy has taken more bops to noggin! You never did say what happened though, in your blog. Did something fall on him or did I miss that part? I’m glad he is okay!
So, we have no idea how Branson got hurt. There was nothing that could have fallen on him. He clearly fell off of the bed. The only thing I can think of is he somehow fell off at the end (where there are no railings of course) and hit his face on the little toy chest that sits by the side of his bed???
